Meridian Technology Group is seeking a Technical Program Director.


In this role, you will lead development of project strategy, stakeholder engagement and oversee operations. Looking for someone to work a specific kind of project that combines Security, Quality Assurance, Business Processes, Technical Architecture, and Data Governance.

This position oversees all aspects of the program life cycle, using a formal program management methodology and the appropriate tools to develop a program plan, budget, risk management approach, and schedule. An Individual serving in this role is responsible for coordination of all program related activities including directing/managing the program and consulting on Business/Strategy, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities to members serving on the program team, and communicating status and issues to stakeholders and IT management.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Promote process, cultural and operational transformation toward increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive standardization and improvement of business processes and supporting technologies.
  • Demonstrate IT’s capabilities to be a beneficial partner to the company’s lines of business.
  • Provides a means for an organization to translate its vision, mission, strategies, goals and objectives into executable programs, projects, and processes.
  • Provides leadership and staff a shared understanding of strategic goals at the tactical and tangible level of human resources, finances, and time.
  • Commitment to a common vision, strategy, and direction.
  • Establish enterprise-wide scope, funding, authority, and functional objectives.
  • Manage the integration and alignment of programs, projects, and processes.
  • Provide executive visibility and reporting.
  • Develop and implement project-specific processes.

General Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and mentoring to members of the staff throughout the program life cycle.
  • Be accountable, earn trust, dignify people, and promote team behavior and a positive winning attitude.
  • Understand and be a strong advocate for IT standards and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and continue to enhance your technical, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Strive to develop and enhance your oral and written communications skills.
  • Provide formal presentations as requested.
  • Promote effective communication between your team and others both internal and external to IT.
  • May require concurrent management of multiple projects

Experience and Skills Requirements:
  • Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or equivalent work experience in related discipline.
  • Preferred 8 - 10 years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale IT systems, with 3 or more years in a Project Management role.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively as a leader in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A good understanding of the software development process, including requirements gathering,
  • A solid background in system design techniques, testing, implementation, release and version control, and training approaches.


Location is Portland, OR with Work from Home Flexibility. Consultants should reside in the area or indicate the reason they are willing/seeking to relocate. Also, interested Consultants must indicate they are willing to relocate at their own expense as this position does not offer relocation assistance.
