Meridian Technology Group is seeking a Resource Scheduler.


Resource Scheduler – Permitting Coordination


Brief Job Description:

Initiate ROW permit applications for a variety of jurisdictions as instructed by work order owners; review work schedule and initiate Planned Outage Switching Sheets and customer notifications according to established timelines. Evaluate and communicate schedule risk with project manager to ensure work remains on schedule with minimal adjustments. May coordinate with multiple project managers over the course of a week.

Required Skills: Years of Experience: 2+
  • ROW PERMITTING EXPERIENCE is a must
  • City of Portland FUN permit experience highly desired
  • Ideally some utility operations background would be good as well
  • Detail-oriented
  • Extremely flexible
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strongly self-motivated. Independent judgment and initiative required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to learn Outage Management System electrical model to create and maintain switching sheets, including real-time monitoring of planned outages.
  • Distribution knowledge or context that would aid in the creation of switching sheets and coordinating outages

Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of line construction workflow, challenges, interdepartmental interactions, and procedures, including detailed roles and responsibilities for tasks and pre-requisites in work management system

Details:
  • Team size: About 16 people – less than half are CW now. We do permitting and other prerequisite management for hard money bid packages/capital projects
  • “A day in the life”: Reviewing work queue to determine what needs to be done, taking action to obtain permits – secondary roles as well
  • A lot of interaction with team and Lead – less with hiring manager
  • Top priority for the worker over the first few weeks/months: Understand our systems and learn the culture of the team
  • The biggest challenge in this role is Learning the nuances of the permitting

Location is Tualatin, OR. Position is Fully Remote but Consultants should reside in the area.
