Working Job title: Assistant Project Manager
Brief Job Description:
- Support the generation, transmission and distribution project management team with executing capital construction projects, starting with a communications project.
- Coordinate with several project teams to gather information about project status and lead efforts to gather scope from engineering teams.
- Heavy focus on data management, document coordination, and follow up with project team members.
- 1 – 5 Years Project coordination and/or Construction experience preferred.
- Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio
- Good, proactive, communicator
- Strong data management & organization
- Willingness to learn.
- Work with a team of 20+ people on a communications project. They will support purchasing and reporting through shared document management tools.
- This role will support multiple projects composed of 3- 20 people; Specific projects are the Multi-Protocol Labeling System (MPLS) and Field Area Network (FAN). There is also potential to support additional projects within the team.
- Primarily supporting 2 project managers with multiple project teams of 3-20 people. Will be a member of team of 11 project managers and project coordinators.
- Daily interaction with team members. Weekly interaction with hiring manager.
- Procurement management: Ordering, tracking, and reporting on open deliverables.
- Meeting with Construction Teams to schedule upcoming work.
- Managing status updates on project SharePoint page.
- Creating a tracking system for project materials.
- Training in QuickBase to create Purchase Orders.
- Will attend and take notes for various team meetings throughout the week.
- Update project SharePoint page to reflect design, materials, construction status.
- The project has been underway for several years but was recently assigned to a new PM and they have implemented many changes to the team structure and tracking mechanisms.

Education Requirements (Experience in Lieu of Degree):
- Associate degree or commensurate experience
Location is Portland, OR with Work From Home Flexibility. Consultants should reside in the area or indicate the reason they are willing/seeking to relocate.
