Meridian Technology Group is seeking a .Net Applications Developer.


Description:

Required Skills - 5 Years Experience

  • C#, .Net, ASP.Net
  • Development and Microsoft Visual Studio experience,
  • ArcObjects/ArcFM custom code development experience
  • Strong working experience with ArcGIS Suites including ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro, Arc Objects, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Web App Builder / ArcGIS Web Experience Builder, Esri ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python
  • Strong working experience with ArcFM Suites including ArcFM Designer, Session Manager, Process Framework, GDBM
  • Database and SQL experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience in supporting geostatistical analysis, geoprocessing, and geocoding tools.
  • Experience managing the integration of data services and ingests between record keeping systems and GIS, Geoworx, IQGEO
  • Experience developing on multiple platforms including Windows and Linux.
  • Good Knowledge in Electric Utilities
Utilities experience is required (this is a must)

Education Requirements (Experience in Lieu of Degree):
  • B.S. (Computer Science or equivalent) +5 yrs.
Team and Work Environment
  • The current team consists of 2 Developers, 1 BSA and 1 QA (Quality Assurance) Lead.
  • Team is working on ArcGIS/ArcFM 10.8.1 upgrade from 10.6.1.
  • The GIS team uses ESRI ArcGIS (Desktop and Enterprise) and Schneider Electrics ArcFm for utilities
  • “A day in the life” of this role: Starts with standup, and the work is assigned for every 2 weeks sprint. Working on upgrade related code changes and help with high priority production incidents.
  • Maximum interaction is with the team as we operate under Scrum/Agile. Meeting w/ manager GIS Team, Touchbase
  • The top priority over the first few weeks/months: Top priority is to help with custom C# code (ArcObjects/ArcFM) development for the 10.8.1 upgrade project with heavy concentration on testing.
  • The biggest challenge in this role: Understanding existing code and how the data flows through various integrations between multiple systems

Application Development
  • Provides application software development services.
  • Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
  • Codes, tests, debugs and documents software applications.
  • Analyzes requirements and tests and integrates application components.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.

Programming/Software Development (PROG)
  • Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations using agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result.
  • Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.
Application Support (ASUP)
  • Maintains application support processes and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
  • Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
Incident Management (USUP)
  • Prioritizes and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures.
  • Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution.
  • Escalates unresolved incidents.
  • Facilitates recovery following resolution of incidents.
  • Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
Problem Management (PBMG)
  • Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services.
  • Determines problem fixes/remedies.
  • Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
Systems Design (DESN)
  • Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems.
  • Delivers technical visualization of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers.
  • Translates logical designs into physical designs and produces detailed design documentation.
  • Maps work to user specification and removes errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes.
Systems Integration (SINT)
  • Defines the integration build, accepts software modules from software developers and produces software builds for loading onto the target environment.
  • Configures the hardware environment, produces integration test specifications and conducts tests, recording details of any failures and carrying out fault diagnosis.

Location is Portland, OR with Work From Home Flexibility. Consultants should reside in the area or indicate the reason they are willing/seeking to relocate.
