Software Development Manger

Our client is a leading provider of customer support (help desk) software. The company started in 2008, and they have made their mark in the SaaS world as a highly respected and sought after provider for B2B technology companies. They are growing rapidly, and are looking for a talented Software Development Manger to lead their Development and QA teams. You will need to successfully manage strategic planning and tactical situations, have outstanding communication and organizational skills, and ensure the Development and QA teams deliver the best customer support application on the market. This is a full time direct permanent hire position.

You will ensure projects are scoped, documented and delivered on time with excellent quality. You will also oversee the hiring and training of new Developers and QA testers.

The ideal candidate will clearly communicate AND facilitate communication extremely well. Someone with grit, instinct and confidence. Someone who can figure things out and make it happen.

You'll need an innate understanding of how to lead teams to create outstanding software in a fast-growing, high-paced, distributed environment. This role requires exceptional communication skills and deep cross-functional collaboration with our Customer Success, Customer Support and Sales Teams.

If you enjoying coding, you can code in this role, but your primary responsibility is to lead and manage the team.

Responsibilities also include:
  • Lead our software development team to deliver quality software on schedule.
  • Be a Player/Coach - you will become an expert on the Company system, and be able to provide technical guidance to your team when needed.
  • Quickly determine needs and analyze areas of improvement, ensuring the correct projects and programs to improve results are identified and delivered.
  • Measure and improve team productivity and knowledge, including code reviews.
  • Recruit and train new team members as needed.
  • Manage and ensure proper prioritization, escalation, monitoring and tracking of feature requests and bug reports.
  • Report KPIs to other stakeholders inside the company and use additional metrics to help with the guidance of the development Team.
  • Promote a customer focused software development culture that will go above and beyond to help ensure we continue to create the best software possible.
  • Speaking to customers about the software, and working closely with our Support team.
  • Representing our company in a positive and respectful demeanor.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with .Net architecture, SQL Server, GIT, JavaScript, C#, and React.
  • At least four years effectively leading a high performing and cohesive software development team.
  • Development experience with web based SaaS software.
  • Effectively operate in very dynamic and sometimes ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with ease.
